UBM TechWeb announced the launch of TheITPro.com, an online community for C-level executives, IT professionals, and all stakeholders in the private cloud computing category.
Cloud computing deployments are increasing each year, thanks to the cost savings and agility they deliver to IT and business processes; cloud is forecast to generate 14 million new jobs globally, with $1.1 trillion annual revenue by 2015, according to industry estimates. The IT Pro (TheITPro.com) is an online community for IT decision makers who are considering and embracing cloud computing, particularly private clouds. On The IT Pro's blog feed, IT professionals from the C-suite to the server racks will present their insights and opinions on private cloud technology, prompting lively discussion and debate on the site's message boards.
Award-winning journalist Michael Steinhart was named editor in chief. He has covered business IT for nearly 15 years and written for many publications, including PC Magazine, eWEEK, Accelerate, and Smarter Technology. "There's a lot of confusion around cloud computing," Steinhart says. "Everybody knows it's a good thing, in theory, but concerns about security and reliability are keeping many organizations out. That's why private clouds are the smart, sustainable approach, and we will focus on helping our community members justify the investment and achieve successful implementations."
